This is a 3-credit Maymester Study Abroad entitled “Purdue Polytechnic’s Central European Multinational Automobile Organization Supply Chain Experience”, and we will be traveling through four cities (Munich, Germany, Prague, Czech Republic, Hamburg, Germany, and Rotterdam, Netherlands) from May 14-28. We will be touring the two largest Ports in Europe as well as the BMW and Volkswagen factories, and partaking in excursions associated with the two trip themes of “cultural immersions” and “history of capitalism/trade”, including the Dachau Concentration Camp in Munich, The Museum of Communism and Nuclear Bunker tour in Prague, the Beatles Live Music tour (from their early touring days in 1960) in Hamburg, and the Southern Dutch food tour in Rotterdam.
This Study Abroad is administered by the Purdue Office of Globalization and Purdue's Study Abroad Office and I’ve secured grants from West Lafayette to keep the price of the trip low for students, and typical summer financial aid covers the entire trip’s tuition. The course itself has been designated by the Office of Globalization as IET 490.
Anyone can feel free to look over our experiences from prior trips (95% of the trip excursions stay the same) here: jimtanoos.com
